For the last 12 years, there has been a festival of the arts in town held in June called The Princeton Festival. It offers fully-staged operas performed at McCarter Theatre on the Matthews stage, musical theater in the intimate Matthews Acting Studio in the Lewis Center for the Arts on campus, a jazz concert, chamber music, symphonic concerts, piano, organ and vocal recitals, dance, world music, and a piano competition. These high-quality performances receive stellar reviews from The New York Times, The Philadelphia Inquirer, Opera News, Opera Magazine, and New Jersey press.
The Princeton Festival is currently seeking homestays for its artists and production staff in private homes within a 40-minute drive to Princeton for the duration of their time. They appreciate the graciousness of the host families and hosts gain the experience of getting to know the artist or production staff member beyond the event on stage. This is a wonderful encounter for those who spend time serving others, but a priceless opportunity for fans of the performing arts.
If you are considering welcoming a Princeton Festival guest into your home for a few days or for several weeks, please contact housing@princetonfestival.org for more information.
