McCarter Theatre hosted an invitation only food and wine tasting at their new café called Terra Teatro. This eatery is a collaboration with the Terra Momo Restaurant Group (TMRG), and is filled with delectable bites from the Terro Momo restaurants and bakery.
Eno Terra Executive Chef Christopher Albrecht was serving up artisanal salumi, and other antipasti items, i.e. formaggi from Cherry Grove Farm, sesame seed bread sticks from Terra Momo Bread Company (formerly called Witherspoon Bread Company), and a blend of herbed green and black olives.
McCarter Managing Director Timothy Shields, and TMRG co-owner Raoul Momo both spoke at this launch party for Terra Teatro to kick off its grand opening. The café had a soft launch a month ago, but will officially open on March 13th.
Passed items included samples of their farro salad, crostini (with a squash spread), sliced panini, and foccacia. Afterwards, brownies, rice pudding, and tiramisu were passed, and biscotti were given out as a little goodie bag. All of these items are on the menu, and range from $2 – $12.
As far as drinks go, I saw prosecco, wine, water, sodas, coffee, and limonata and aranciata San Pellegrino beverages.
Terra Teatro will be open to serve during intermission, and before and after performances, depending on the day. The new café has a casual European atmosphere, and a high quality of food that’s ideal for McCarter patrons. It’s a space perfect for mingling, which corresponds with the message on the menu board stating that it’s a place for food, wine and conversation.
