Sorry New England fans, but this is the Giants’ year to shine! Super Bowl XLVI is just days away, and I can feel the electricity in the air. Giants memorabilia is displayed in a few local businesses, office pools have started, and people are making plans on where to watch the big game. Fans are getting ready for the Super Bowl!
We hosted a Super Bowl party last year, and one family drove up to Hoboken to buy a football cake from the Cake Boss to bring to our bash. Honestly, I think local bakers could’ve done an equally good job, if not better. The Giants weren’t playing then, so it was more about the company of our friends. This year will be different!
Sunday night, I think I’ll just be watching with my family to concentrate more on the game and laugh at the commercials, but that could still change at the last-minute. I was just thinking of all of the places in town that could provide the right stuff for the game. Chuck’s Buffalo wings, Hoagie Haven cheese steaks, Rocky Hill Inn’s or Triumph’s sliders, Pennsylvania Dutch Market’s pulled pork sandwiches, McCaffrey’s deli platters, Philly Pretzel Factory pretzels and pretzel dogs, Tico’s quesadillas, tacos or burritos, Witherspoon Wines’ craft beer, and House of Cupcakes treats would certainly please the gang, and Old World Pizza and Naked Pizza can even deliver straight to your door. I have to give Princeton props for offering a wide variety of ‘game food’.
If you’re not going to a Super Bowl party, and don’t feel like hosting one, you can join an ‘instant’ party by watching the Giants take on the Patriots at The Alchemist & Barrister, The Princeton Sports Bar, Triumph Brewery, or Winberries with some newly made friends. GO GIANTS!
Who are you rooting for?
