The Princeton Shopping Center just held their Annual Spring Fling celebration in their courtyard last Saturday, and it was such a great family event! There were free pony rides, a petting zoo, crafts, a pet fashion show, and more!
I entered the shopping center from the south, so I was greeted by the pony rides, and at 11 AM (the official start time) there was a good-sized line already. The good thing is there were four ponies, so no one had to wait too long.
The petting zoo was also a big hit. There were goats, ducks, sheep, a rabbit and a rooster. Parents could buy feed for a dollar, and the kids had the animals literally eating out of their hands.
Great Clips had a Dalmatian mascot handing out lollipops and stylists were spaying hair with sparkled and colored hairspray, and Sparkles the Clown was in front of Incredible Me making balloon figures.
Wild Child Yoga celebrated their first year with an amazing cake by Jen’s Cakes and Pastries, had puppet shows by Fairific, an Odissi dance performance, and offered trial yoga classes.
There were great crafts for the kids for them to use as last-minute Mother’s Day gifts. Paint-your-own birdhouses were available for the first 150 children, and Ace Housewares had flower pots to paint.
Cutter’s Mill Pet Store hosted a fashion show with cats and dogs ready for adoption from Res Q Pets of Hamilton, and EASEL Animal Rescue League of Mercer County. One unique outfit was a white Louis Vuitton inspired jacket. Mostly dogs participated in the fashion show, but there was also one cat carried down the runway. They were all so adorable.
Merchants offered discounts and had tables out in front of their stores with info, special items, and quick service; people were sitting on chairs on the lawn; the Main Street Clocktower Cabana Patio Bar was open for al fresco dining and had most seats filled; Bon Appetit had a cart out selling gelato, and McCaffrey’s was grilling hot dogs and burgers.
It was the perfect day for the Princeton Shopping Center’s Spring Fling. The sun was shining, billowy clouds floated above, and temps reached 74 degrees. Events like this is why I love living in Princeton so much!
Sweet!!!!!!!!!
I love this event! I see a lot of my friends there with there families, the kids’ faces light up from all of the activities, it’s a peaceful & safe environment, and it’s a great to be able to shop and let the kids have fun in between. PLUS, there’s ample free parking! You’re right Chris, it IS sweet!!!!!!
This is a great write-up and it’s nice to see the Princeton Shopping Center featured. Thank you!
Thanks Faith! The Princeton Shopping Center has so much to offer, so I’ll have to write more posts focusing on the treasures that can be found there.
