TPC Jasna Polana is located in Princeton, NJ and is one of the top private country clubs in New Jersey. Previously the estate of John Seward Johnson, son of Robert Wood Johnson (co-founder of Johnson & Johnson), it boasts a championship 18-course golf course which is a member of the Tournament Players Club (TPC) network operated by the PGA. It has always been open to members for private events like weddings, but for the first time Jasna Polana has opened its doors to non-members for weddings. Mattison Network founder Deborah Lynch’s Country Club Bride and Groom Showcase featuring luxury businesses from the tri-state area, kicked things off in ultimate style.
The gown above is being modeled for Exquisite Bride. Princeton’s own bridal gown designer Jean-Ralph Thurin had gowns from Thurin Atelier showcased. He works with brides in creating dream couture wedding gowns.
There was a fashion show featuring designs from Malan Breton, who some may know from TV’s Project Runway. First the male models showed off some of the collection from Malan Breton Homme. They broke the tradition of the tuxedo, and donned suits for the modern groom, and one in particular was very unique. It reminded me of an updated version of the Eaton suits my brothers wore as kids. The model wore a suit jacket with matching Bermuda shorts (bottom right of photo set).
The ladies also broke tradition. One wore a black gown, while the other wore red. The video below the photo shows the début of the signature red wedding gown OUI for MATTISON by Malan Brenton at New York’s fashion week earlier this year.
I loved the living statues. There were some topiaries at the foot of the grand staircase (below).
Too many professionals participated to name, so here is the list. There is also a OUI for MATTISON book which gives more details of the businesses, and will be available at Barnes & Noble in Princeton. It’s a great resource for weddings and events. You can pick up a complimentary copy soon, and it’ll be available until April 3, 2012 or while supplies last.
